YMCA Camp McConnell programming is rooted in the mission of the YMCA: "To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all." We seek to serve and respect people of all faiths and honor those Judeo-Christian principles that are the American heritage. By grounding our program in the core values of the YMCA we strive to enrich the lives and the character of every Camp McConnell camper. The YMCA's Core Values are:

Caring, symbolized by the color red for the heart, we seek to teach campers love and tolerance for fellow human beings.

Responsibility, symbolized by the color green for nature and our responsibility for the world around us and ourselves.

Honesty, is blue for "true blue", the value of honor and truthfulness in our lives.

Respect, is gold for the "golden rule", treating others as we ourselves wish to be treated.
