Camp McConnell
Founded in 1967, Camp McConnell was generously donated by Dorys McConnell Duberg to the YMCA of the Palm Beaches in the name of her father David Hall McConnell for whom the camp is named.
For over 40 years Camp McConnell has established a proud heritage of being that magical place where life-long memories are made, called "Summer Camp" for thousands of children. In addition, Camp McConnell is the recognized leader in hosting many specialty camps. We were the first to host the Florida's Children's Cancer Camp, as well as the Children's Diabetes Camp and Children With Hemophilia Camp, Children's Tourette's, Kidney and Hospice Camps to name a few.
Camp McConnell is a summer camp that welcomes all children boys or girls, national or international, ages 7 to 15, and of any religion.
YMCA Camp McConnell adheres to the strict National Camping Guidelines. These guidelines require affirmation of adherence to 73 principles of operation covering mission & philosophy, personnel, administration, health & safety, facilities, transportation, and programs.
Camp McConnell is committed to excellence through community support and leadership. The YMCA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors enlisted from the ranks of community leaders, camper parents, and program participants. They provide direction and oversight to the camp's program.
